Gary or Jedward.......Seriously??

Gary or Jedward is seriously the question Hotpress is asking!!
In their next issue they will be issuing two covers, one of Gary Lightbody and one of Jedward and they want people to pick their favourite..........

(Hotpress is an Irish "Music" magazine)

I was so annoyed when I saw this in the paper this morning, seriously though how can Hotpress do something like that?? I'm actually lost for words so let's just say I'm not very happy and even though Hotpress doesn't have much credibility anymore then this has really pushed it down to the bottom of the credibility ladder for me, I would have bought it if I saw Gary or SP on the front cover but I don't think I could buy it now!!

So I was wondering what opinion other people had on the subject?

I actually have to buy this edition to see if they mentioned a music night I am one of the organisers of. I will just make sure it GL's cover as I can't even look at those too muppets.

I saw on facebook this morning that universal music group had something like pop v rock make sure to support Jedward and I was just like or not....
Thinking to myself that if I was to buy Hotpress I'd buy the copy without Jedward on it cuz whoever is on the other couldn't be any worse than them, not realising that it's Gary on the other one!

I don't mind a bit of pop, but there's good pop (Kylie, Girls Aloud, etc), bad pop, and then there's Jedward. They are in a league of their own for awfulness. And will undoubtably sell millions.

I think this is actually the young versus old war and an easy way for Hotpress to market research their readers without having to actually conduct a survey

^ I doubt they give a rat's arse actually. They're probably too busy wondering about more important things than what a magazine puts on it's cover, as should we all be. :-)

I got the mag earlier today and it was the last Gary cover in the shop and there was loads of Jedward copies left.

We have that happening here many times, with different magazines. I think for the magazine, it is a great way to find out who they need to talk about more often/ feature more in their magazines. People choose their favourite artist, and that's it.<br /><br />I wouldn't and don't take offense, if I want to buy the magazine, I just choose the cover/artist I like more, period. <br /><br />Why the drama over such a silly thing?

Had to look at wiki who Jedward is actually. The pic there was enough to laugh my head off. This comparison is ridiculous imo. Two artists from completely different genres... Don´t understand the sense of that "competition".

I have calmed down a bit now, I was just shocked earlier when I saw that they could put Jedward in the same category as Gary Lightbody, it felt like they were making little of Gary and his talent and it just annoyed me!

Glad to hear there was loads of Jedward left :)

Saw the title on the cover was "How Gary Lightbody left Snow Patrol Behind"... whats all that about??

I agree with most of the things said above here - I'm going to buy the gL one simply because I love that photo of him on the cover. Sorta mystical if you will.

I think it's a lot of fuss about nothing really.
